Lost Two Marines Yesterday
Last night we lost 2 more of our brethren.
Marines from Combat Logistics Battalion 1 (CLB-1) were traveling just north of Karmah when one of their MRAPs rolled into a canal.
Two Marines died at the scene and another was Air CASEVAC’d here to TQ in hopes that the surgeons can save his life.
The surgeons are good men and completely trust in their commitment and desire to help Marines. I say that because I personally know them. I am with them in maybe 6 to 7 briefs a week and have helped them research many a subject. Whoever this wounded Marine is he is with good men.
Often in the Marine Corps we say that success is our own worst enemy. There has yet been a mission in Afghanistan or Iraq we have not successfully completed. Because of this, the lack of men and vehicles mixed with a short timeline do not prevent us from rogering up.
Marines are for fighting. Marines are expeditionary by nature. It is the Army that is designed to be the land-based sustainment force. It is not in the Marine Corps doctrine or mindset but here we are fulfilling what should be the Army’s job because of their inability to do so. Marines need to be in Afghanistan and the Army to assume overwatch and logistics for all of Iraq.
Last night these warriors rogered up for yet another mission. They helped keep this country from being taken over by Al Qaeda and the insurgents. They did what they liked doing and that is of course being Marines.
It’s horrible what their family and friends are now dealing with. Being parents and siblings to Marines I am sure that though grieving they understand and respect the decision their love one made in coming to this place.
In respect of the Marines we have lost, its time to let the Army take full responsibility for Iraq and then let the Jarheads have card blanch in Afghanistan to kill or capture the remaining remnants of Al Qaeda and Taliban so we can call this war won and go home.
Pray for the family and loved ones so that they can more quickly cope.
Pray for the safe return of the other Marines.
Pray for those who just left us.

We lift up our hearts to the families of these fallen young Marines and pray for the survival of the third young man. We ask you ,Lord, to protect all of our servicemen and women as they fight evil where it lives and to have mercy on us all. God bless America and the U.S. Marines.
[...] Marines in Iraq need our prayers, especially today. According to our good friend Gunny Jenkins, currently serving in Iraq with the U.S. Marines, “Last night we lost 2 more of our brethren. [...]
I’m sure God welcomed the 2 marines into Heaven, and they will be there to welcome us as well when we hopefully enter the gates of Heaven. There are not enough thanks we can give to all the Marines and their families for protecting freedom. As all of you military men and women fight off Satan over there, we veterans and other patriots stand next to you and support your every action to preserve and defend democracy.
We mourn every life that is taken away, and every life that is altered by this war … but we understand why you are there and pray daily for every Marine, Soldier, Airman and Seaman who has sacrificed so much to keep us free.

One of those men was a dear sweet friend of my daughter’s. They graduated highschool together in 05. I pray for his young wife, his family, friends that are mourning. I also pray for the family of the other marines that were also injured and lost. I pray for those that are still there, that are about to head there. My daughters class has several young men there now and another headed that way. BRING OUR MEN AND WOMEN HOME!

My heart breaks for the families of these fine young men. As these Marines walk through the gates of glory I pray that God will comfort and sustain their families during their time of sorrow.
God Bless you and your fellow Marines, Gunny, we are with you everyday and pray for your safety. I am so sorry for the loss of your fellow Marines. Stay safe.

I am the father of the Marine that survived the incident north of Karmah. Presently he is in the ICU at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center. He is in serious condition with damage to his lungs. We are presently making travel arrangements to be with him. We feel fortunate and so blessed that our son survived. We only found out today that there were two Marines that lost their lives. Our hearts go out to their families, they are in our prayers. The thought of losing a son is unimaginable. Just the sorrow we feel of having our son in critical condition and not being by his side is hard. We feel so bad for those that lost their loved ones…
To the loved ones of these Marines….My heart goes out to you..and my prayers go to God for you. The Father loves you, His Son knows your pain and His Holy Spirit is loving and encouraging you even now. He will never leave you.
I once heard from another pastor, that the prayers of mothers
are always the first to reach God ears. How wonderful!
Yes, your pain is unimaginable and your grief unfathomable, but please know that the prayers of so many caring folks are at this moment reaching a caring, loving God, Who is already helping you through this tragedy.
God bless you, and all Marines and their families!

Last week was a tough week. Everyone who lost their life last week will always be loved, and never forgotten… Even by those who did not know them.
To all of the Marines families . . . I was the Doc on the ground with your sons and husbands. I did EVERYTHING I could for your loved ones. I apologize that I could not do more. Please know that I am praying with the rest of the nation for each and everyone of our Marines, Sailors and their families. I have never served with a finer group of men and women.
