Speaking from the comfort of your computer monitor, it is much easier to cast aside common sense and just follow party politics. This war is not about Democrats or Republicans or any other party. This war is about an enemy who is willing to train, sometimes for years, in order to carry out their plan of destruction for the United States. These are very patient individuals of whom we can not even imagine the level of their resolve to do what they intend to do. To the author: Thank you for all you do. A good friend of mine was in Baghdad for a year and the stories he came home with, well...you'll never hear them on the news. Stories like the Iraqis being happy to see us, pictures of the Iraqi children with huge smiles on their faces. None of us wants to be there longer than we have to, but we must get the job done. The 9-1-1 attacks should have been prosecuted as a crime--just like the first attack on the World Trade Center. Terror is an emotion. Will the next metaphorical war be declared on fear? Who is going to surrender and sign the peace treaty in our war on terror or war on fear? Our so-called War On Drugs is also just a metaphor. Who is going to surrender and sign the peace treaty in the war on drugs? The so-called War On Terror is just a metaphor.
